We specialise in high-quality, welfare-led grooming, delivered through structured systems, clear processes, and consistent standards across all locations. We are not a traditional grooming salon; we are an organised, standards-driven business focused on developing skilled, confident groomers in a supportive, professional environment. This could be the perfect opportunity for you.
My Dog Barber is offering a Dog Grooming Apprenticeship within a professional, fast-paced salon environment across our locations. A typical day will involve supporting the grooming process from start to finish, including bathing, drying, and preparing dogs to a high standard, assisting stylists, learning structured grooming techniques through hands-on experience, maintaining cleanliness and organisation, and supporting the team to keep the day running smoothly. You will gain real salon experience alongside structured training, helping you build the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to develop a long-term career in dog grooming.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Welcoming clients and supporting arrival processes
- Bathing, drying, and preparing dogs
- Assisting with handling and basic services (nails, teeth cleaning)
- Supporting stylists and maintaining salon standards

- Hands-on experience in a busy, professional salon
- Structured training through our Training Academy
- Skills in preparation, styling, and canine care
- Support from an experienced team
You will be trained within a structured, professional environment across multiple salons, supported by our Training Academy. Our approach focuses on building confident, capable groomers through hands-on experience from day one. We have successfully trained apprentices who have gone on to build long-term careers within the industry, including progressing into employed stylist roles, salon management positions, and teaching roles within our business. You will gain real salon experience, not just classroom learning, and be part of a team that values high standards, consistency, and dog welfare.
