This is a vacancy at an International event yard with horses ranging from 3 years old to 5* event horses. Andrew is a top event rider with a lovely string of horses. Jobs will include all yard duties, riding and event opportunities and the chance to bring your own horse! A fantastic opportunity to work on a busy and fun competition yard with a lot of opportunities to learn the skills needed for a career in the industry.
Within the role, the successful candidate will be working towards a Level 2 or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Equine. Further training and employment available for the right candidate. You can even stay here and bring your horse to access amazing training!
Responsibilities:
- Yard duties will include but not limited to:
- Turning out and bringing in
- Mucking out
- Feeding, watering and haying
- Grooming
- Clipping and trimming
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
- Tacking up
- Riding/hacking
- Attending shows/events
Desired skills and qualities:
- Must be able to work alone at times and as part of a team
- Applicants must have some experience of handling horses and show this on application
- Applicants must be confident to ride fit and fast horses
- Good communication

- GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English are desired

Training:
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship or Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship. The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
