South Cambs Equestrian Centre offers riding lessons and livery services to clients of all ages and abilities. Set in 260 acres of Cambridgeshire countryside, they offer something for every level of equestrian. They are a British Horse Society approved riding centre, BHS approved livery yard and have been awarded a five star animal welfare license by the local authority. With outstanding facilities, their new apprentice will develop skills across the equestrian sector and gain the industry skills needed for a successful career in equine.

Responsibilities- Mucking out
- Feeding
- Haying & watering
- Sweeping/tidying yard
- Keeping the yard, equipment and public areas clean
- Catching in & turning out
- Grooming & preparing horses for lessons
- Assisting with lessons
- Involvement with backing & training and assisting at shows
- High attendance and punctuality record
- Keen listener, able to follow instructions, and to learn from experiences
- Enthusiastic to learn about working with horses
- Understand teamwork and supporting colleagues in the pursuit of shared goals
- Applicants must NOT already hold a level 2 or above in Equine
- GCSE maths and English Grade 4/C or equivalent desired but not essential
- Teaching opportunities
- Opportunity of full time work after the apprenticeship
- Progression on to level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship. The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship. The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
