Apprentice Dog Groomer (Hound & Co Beckenham)

High quality dog grooming, ultrasonic teeth cleaning. We have an interest in the wellbeing of dogs and stock a range of nutritious treats and enriching activities for dogs in the retail areas within our salons (we have another salon in Dulwich).We have an established reputation across our business for our high standard of work and care towards dogs and clients alike. Good customer service and a high standard of work is very important to us.

We are an approved iPET Network Training Centre (at the Dulwich salon) and Kirsty, our company director, is a qualified assessor and trainer in dog grooming qualifications. We have several students learning within our establishments and we would be happy to to support any keen candidate with further learning and qualifications following the apprenticeship beyond level 2 if if they were interested. Our team of staff across the business are well established and we have a low turnover of staff, which we believe is testament to the working environment we provide.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as a dog grooming apprentice STARTING 5th JANUARY 2027

Duties will include;

• Washing and drying and preparing dog for grooming.
• Cleaning and maintenance of salon environment.
• Grooming activities to be taught under guidance of salon manager such as clipping nails, clipping the coat and basic scissor skills.
• With guidance over time, we will enhance on these skills with more insight into full grooming styles and how to achieve them.
• We will work with all kinds of dogs and coat types and provide a supportive learning environment for any candidate to learn a high standard of grooming.
• Customer service skills, interacting with clients to book appointments, pick up and drop off dogs.

Future Progression

• Employment for the right candidate if a position is available.

Training

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.

• The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete theapprenticeship.
