Role Description
We’re excited to offer a great opportunity for someone motivated to kick-start their career while working towards the well-regarded AAT qualification. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience with a trusted accountancy practice.
As part of our busy team, you’ll work with a range of businesses and quickly take on responsibilities as you progress through your studies. We know training as an accountant takes dedication, so we provide strong support—including covering your study costs and offering paid study leave. Our practical training covers a variety of tasks designed to help you develop your skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Bookkeeping and payroll
- Preparing Sole Trader accounts
- VAT return preparation
- Processing invoices and managing accounts payable and receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Helping with tax return preparation
About you
We’re looking for someone friendly, hardworking, and keen to build a career in accountancy. You’ll thrive in a warm, supportive team where collaboration matters.
To succeed, you’ll ideally have:
- At least 4 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English and Maths (minimum grade 7 (A) in Maths)
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel at an intermediate level
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A team player attitude and willingness to ask questions when needed
- Sharp attention to detail with an analytical mindset and creative problem-solving skills
- Initiative and good judgement, taking ownership of your work from start to finish
- The ability to manage pressure, meet deadlines, and balance work with study
- Motivation, enthusiasm, and a reliable approach to commuting to the office
