Keith Borer Consultants is a leading name in Forensic Science Consultancy and Expert Witness services. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter who is passionate about digital technology and wants to start a career as a digital forensic scientist. This role focuses on the specialism of geolocation – this includes Cell Site Analysis, which focuses on the signals of mobile phones to establish where that phone has been, and Tachograph Analysis, which focuses on analysis of data from vehicles to establish the routes taken.
The position on offer is full time, based at our office in Durham and comes with on-the-job training that will be tailored to need and experience.
Duties will include:
- Communicating directly with customers to establish requirements and provide estimates
- Analysis of Call Data Records and Radio Frequency Propagation survey results
- Analysis of Tachograph data to establish the route of a vehicle
- Preparation of written reports and mapping which are accurate and easy to understand
- Peer reviewing the reports of colleagues
- Advising Counsel, preparing joint expert statements and presenting evidence at Court
- Assisting in progressing towards ISO 17025 accreditation, where relevant
- Growing and developing our services, including engaging in marketing activities
To be considered for this role you will likely have a computing or digital forensics degree, be organised and diligent, self-motivated, and able to take responsibility for your own workload. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a critical thinker and have good attention to detail. The ability to work efficiently and effectively, irrespective of deadline, is essential.
The standard working week for a full time employee is 37.5 hours, worked Monday to Friday with hours to be agreed between 08:00 and 17:30. Travel throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and occasionally further afield is to be expected; flexibility will be required to accommodate this. A full UK driving licence is required.
