Process Analytical Chemist / Chemical Engineer. in Didcot

Location: Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire (OX11 0RL) - 3 days per week on-site and occasional international travel for customer visits and conferences.

Working Hours: 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday with flexibility. Full-time - Permanent.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analysing customer samples in the lab to create datasets for model development.
• Building chemometric models to demonstrate the IRmadillo's capabilities.
• Working directly with customers to implement and troubleshoot models.
• Supporting the sales team by explaining spectroscopy and understanding customer chemistry.
• Helping customers integrate spectrometers with their plant control systems.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to spot trends or issues in data.
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and contribute across the team.
• Awareness of the chemical and biotech industries.
• Interest or basic understanding of chemometrics (don’t worry—we’ll help you learn!).
• Practical experience with spectroscopy, analytical chemistry, or chemical processes (e.g., through coursework, projects, or internships).
