Keighley College are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Course Leader to join our English Team. This is a key role in shaping the educational journey of our learners and supporting them to achieve their full potential. What You Will Do

  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for selected English courses.
  • Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.
  • Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
  • Lead the IV process for selected courses.

About You

  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or willing to work towards).
  • Relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
  • An enthusiastic and knowledgeable English specialist with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • You bring experience in teaching English across a range of levels and abilities, with a clear understanding of curriculum requirements and assessment standards.
  • You are confident in designing engaging schemes of work that support student progress and achievement, while fostering a love of learning.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing course delivery, monitoring student performance, and supporting teaching staff.
  • You use data effectively to track progress and implement strategies for improvement.
  • You have excellent communication and leadership skills, enabling you to motivate learners and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • You are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can succeed.
