Keighley College is looking for a Bricklaying Course Leader to join the team. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering a curriculum that focuses on Bricklaying within our construction department. The role combines academic leadership, industry relevance, and a focus on key knowledge, skills, and behaviours to equip learners with the necessary tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving sector. This position plays a crucial role in aligning education with the growing demand of the construction industry within the community of West Yorkshire. The role requires a dynamic individual with deep knowledge of joinery practices who can inspire both students and faculty to achieve excellence.

What You Will Do

  • You will lead the design and implementation of new modules and courses that are relevant to current and future industry needs.
  • You will work closely with the teaching team to maintain high-quality delivery and adapt teaching practices to meet the diverse needs of students while ensuring they acquire the skills required for the joinery trade.
  • This includes preparing students for the evolving expectations of the labour market in site and bench joinery sectors.
  • Leading a team of educators, you will encourage continuous professional development to ensure all staff are up-to-date with the latest advancements and industry updates.
  • You will be responsible for developing comprehensive assessment strategies that provide meaningful feedback to students, helping them progress in their learning and development.
  • The role demands a passion for motivating and inspiring students to not only meet academic goals but to think creatively about their role in a sustainable future.
  • As part of maintaining high standards, you will complete course-level self-assessments and contribute to ongoing quality improvement plans.

About You

  • Strong background in teaching and joinery trade.

  • Teaching experience is preferred but not essential.
