Keighley College are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Course Leader to join our Creative Arts Team. This is a key role in shaping the educational journey of our learners and supporting them to achieve their full potential. What You Will Do

  • Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for Art Courses.
  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all the course(s) teaching activity.
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.
  • Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
  • Lead IQA and EV visits.

About You

  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
  • Relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
  • You are a passionate and experienced art educator with a strong background in creative practice and teaching.
  • You have a solid understanding of a range of artistic disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, or digital media, and are confident in designing and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • You are highly organised and capable of planning structured courses, setting clear learning objectives, and assessing student progress effectively.
  • You are comfortable managing a classroom or studio environment, ensuring it is safe, supportive, and conducive to creativity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • You work well independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and engaging positively with students.
