As a Level 2 Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside experienced staff to support teaching and learning across a range of subjects and age groups. You will:

  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities

  • Support pupils individually or in small groups

  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

  • Provide additional support to pupils with special educational needs or English as an additional language

  • Take part in training and reflective learning as part of your apprenticeship programme

You’ll receive mentoring from experienced professionals and time to complete your studies towards the Level 2 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship qualification .

What You Will Do

As a Level 2 Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the classroom teacher with the delivery of lessons and activities

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and engagement

  • Assist with setting up learning resources and tidying the classroom

  • Provide support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum

  • Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment

  • Supervise pupils during break and lunchtimes, if required

  • Take part in staff meetings, training sessions, and reviews

  • Complete coursework and assessments for your apprenticeship programme with the support of a dedicated mentor and training provider
