MCI is part of Keepmoat Homes and is focused on working in partnership with Regional Social Housing Providers to provide quality homes at affordable prices alongside developing a pipeline of land with aspirations of further market value growth in this region. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join the team. Reporting to the Engineering Managers, the Senior Engineers are responsible for the general day to day running of the technical function to ensure it fully supports the needs, aspirations and targets in line with the 5-year plan set out by the business.
The main purpose of the roles are to coordinate all design information between external consultants and internal departments ensuring that all approvals are obtained in a timely manner and that high quality and correct information is issued to other departments. Duties stretch from site feasibility stage throughout the sites development and to completion and handover to the relevant authorities/discharge of obligations. Duties also include delivery of work to targets set, production of accurate and timely reports for the business and checking the adequacy, accuracy and commercial suitability of information flowing through the department. Collation of design information for procurement tender and construction issue and live site support with attendance of development team meetings in conjunction with the other teams. Demonstrates strong relationships through ability to work cross functionally to achieve successful outcomes.

- Lead the engineering design process to ensure the business objectives are achieved;

- Preparation of constraints & opportunities plans;
- Reporting internally and making recommendations;
- Providing engineering information for planning submissions;
- Procuring foundation designs;
- Procuring contamination remediation designs;
- Procuring Technical Approvals;
- Procuring Building Regulation approvals;
- Issuing and managing drawings;
- Dealing with engineering related site queries;
- Assisting in the road & sewer adoption process;
- Assisting in obtaining footpath closures & diversions;
- Assisting in procurement of services provision and diversions;
- Managing payments & budgets;
- Ensuring the quality of engineering information provided both internally and externally is of the highest standards.
Education & qualifications:
- HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering;
- Providing proactive support to operational business units;
- Worked within a Technical New build environment for a minimum of 2 years;
- High level of interpersonal skills and a professional attitude to work;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent engineering knowledge – foundations, road & sewers, geo environmental - with a specialism in one or all;
- Proven track record of delivering s38, s278 & s104 designs & approvals;
- Good understanding of the Planning and Building Control processes;
- Experience of planning, organising and prioritising own workload;
- Confident with ability to communicate and influence at all levels;
- Self-motivated;
