We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Technician to join our MCI Developments business, based from Wigan. The Architectural Technician is a core role within the technical team and is the main contact hub with the Planning and NHBC Portals for the team and also the invoice tracking system and document management system controller to ensure a reliable and consistent approach is maintained with these vital systems.
The main purpose of the role is to provide architectural support and technical guidance for both regional office and site-based operations.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Produce and coordinate working drawings and technical design information, including bespoke unit detailing
- Manage and integrate consultant and supplier inputs into coordinated drawing packages
- Resolve site queries to support construction progress and product development
- Procure and coordinate architectural, landscaping and supporting technical information (including legal/sales requirements)
- Manage Building Regulations approvals and ensure compliance with relevant standards, including BSA requirements
- Apply knowledge of Building Safety Act, regulatory frameworks and duty holder responsibilities to ensure safe design
- Support design reviews, compliance processes and engagement with Principal Designers and Building Control
- Contribute to design risk management and Gateway / Golden Thread requirements across the project lifecycle
The successful candidate will have a high level of proficiency in relevant design and technical based software like AutoCAD, and general IT skills including an advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages. We are looking for someone with an Architectural related qualification, degree or equivalent.
