We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Environmental Health and Safety Business Partner to join us in our West Midlands and South West regions based from our Fort Dunlop office in Birmingham or office in Bristol with travel to sites throughout the regions required. The Regional Environmental Health and Safety Business Partner will collaborate with the regional leadership team for the regions to help ensure a collective vision that includes systems and compliance, but that extends beyond this to focus on people and behaviour to help create a positively reinforced learning culture.
Part of the wider Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team, they will be influential, visible and be responsible for engaging at all levels of the organisation to promote and embed continuous improvement programmes envisioned by the business, working closely with the regional leadership teams and the central EHS team to drive and embed first-class EHS management and assurance.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with all statutory EHS requirements throughout all phases of a development and in particular, the Construction, Design & Management Regulations.
- Carry out audits against Keepmoat, legal, ISO and best practice standards covering high risk activities and Keepmoat system requirements.
Skills, knowledge & experience:
- Proven experience in EHS management within development environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM, RIDDOR and ISO standards.
- Ability to influence and coach leaders and teams to embed a positive, sustainable safety culture.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement.
- Confident communicator with experience delivering EHS training and operational support.
- Commercially aware, proactive and committed to best practice and professional development.
Education & qualifications:
- A full UK driving license is essential.
- Essential: Chartered EHS professional (CMIOSH) or GradIOSH and actively working towards Chartership.
- Desirable: Environmental, Sustainability & QA qualifications and experience.
