Main purpose of the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join us in this key role within our technical team, based from our Head Office at Lakeside, Doncaster. This role is to support our thriving Yorkshire East region, who have a robust and secure plan for future developments.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Engineering Manager is responsible for the general day-to-day management of the technical function to ensure it fully supports the needs, aspirations and targets in line with the 5-year plan set out by the business. The main purpose of the role is to coordinate all design/utility information between external consultants/MU contractors and internal departments ensuring that all approvals/utility quotes are obtained in a timely manner and that high quality and correct information is issued to other departments.
The postholder will also be responsible for the setting, monitoring and delivery of targets, production of accurate and timely reports for the business and developing a high performing team. They will challenge others to drive performance improvement without damaging confidence levels or performance output.

Skills, knowledge & experience
We are looking for an established Engineering Manager who embodies our Keepmoat values; passionate about the housebuilding industry, they will work in a straightforward way, possessing strong organisational skills with a good commercial and contractual awareness. They will be creative with a keen eye for detail and ability to process technical information. They will be collaborative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong negotiator with proven experience in gaining consent on complex technical approvals.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Engineering related qualification, degree or equivalent.
- Degree or higher education course which is accredited by Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- A high level of proficiency in relevant design and technical based software like AutoCAD
- Worked within a Technical New build environment for a minimum of 2 years.
