Project Quanta is a business-led, transformation-driven programme designed to give our teams the processes, tools, data, and efficiencies they need to thrive. By modernising our Ways of Working and COINS ERP system, we will strengthen operational resilience, unlock smarter insights, and create a more seamless experience for our colleagues and our customers.

As part of this project, the Business Intelligence Developer will work closely with the Business Intelligence Manager to deliver and maintain end-to-end business intelligence solutions for Keepmoat. This will cover data ingestion, transformation, modelling and analysis, through to visualisation via reports and dashboards that drive insight and improve decision-making across the organisation.

Duties will include working with stakeholders to identify and develop solutions to business problems and challenges; translating business needs into technical specifications; and hands‑on development of measures, semantic models, reports, and dashboards. Responsibilities will also include administration, maintenance
and optimisation of the Power BI service, championing data quality and governance, and supporting the organisation to adopt and develop AI-enabled analytics (for example, Copilot-assisted development and natural-language insight) in a secure and responsible way.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to business needs and best-practice -UX/data visualisation.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse/lakehouse assets and ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring robust, scalable and well‑documented data ingestion.
  • Partner with stakeholders to shape requirements, define KPIs and acceptance criteria, and translate business needs into technical specifications and deliverableBI products.
  • Maintain and optimise BI solutions (model performance, refresh reliability, capacity, accessibility), monitoring usage and continuously improving userexperience and adoption.
  • Present results to stakeholders using clear data storytelling, articulating trends, insights, assumptions and limitations to drive action.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation (data definitions, lineage, model design, refresh/runbooks) to support supportability and knowledge sharing.
  • Champion data quality, governance and security (including access controls and row-level security), promoting trusted data and consistent KPI definitions.
  • Recognise and adopt best practices in semantic modelling, testing and release management (e.g., Azure DevOps), and actively develop knowledge of
  • responsible AI features (e.g., Copilot-assisted development, natural-language Q&A and AI-enabled insights) in line with organisational policies.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ proven professional experience in Business Intelligence/Analytics (or a relevant technical field) delivering production reporting/insight solutions end-to-end
  • Strong Power BI experience, including semantic modelling, DAX, Power Query (M), and paginated reporting (SSRS/Power BI)
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and data integration tools and patterns (preferably Informatica), including scheduling, monitoring and error handling
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional modelling (e.g., star schemas) and BI performance techniques
  • Relational database and SQL experience (preferably SQL Server/Azure SQL Database, T SQL), including query optimisation
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment (preferably using Azure DevOps) with clear backlog management and iterative delivery
  • Experience with SDLC controls for analytics, including source control, deployment processes and testing/validation of data and reports
  • Understanding of Power BI Service administration and governance (workspaces, permissions, RLS, refresh, gateways, deployment pipelines/capacity) and working with information security and data protection requirements
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability; comfortable working with ambiguity and iterating towards a solution
  • Ability to translate business needs into robust data models, measures and technical specifications, with clear definitions of KPIs
  • Capable of managing a broad range of work, prioritising effectively and balancing delivery, support and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of the housebuilding industry and key operational/financial metrics
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks) and modern lakehouse patterns
  • Experience using AI features in Power BI/Microsoft 365 (e.g., Copilot, natural-language Q&A) and applying them to improve productivity and insight generation
  • Interest in, and willingness to develop, AI/GenAI capability in the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Copilot, natural-language Q&A, AI-enabled insights) and apply it safely (privacy, security, bias and validation of outputs)
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300) or willingness to work towards them
  • Experience with COINS ERP system and/or Microsoft Dynamics (or similar ERP/CRM platforms)

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience
  • Data engineering, data science or AI-related qualifications and/or relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Power BI/Fabric)
  • Microsoft PL-300 certification or higher
