As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classroom activities, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task while following pre-planned lesson materials. You will provide support to teaching staff, manage behaviour, and maintain a positive and safe learning environment. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking for flexible work.
Responsibilities
- Supervise classes according to the school’s lesson plans
- Maintain good classroom behaviour and follow school policies
- Support pupils with their learning as directed
- Assist teaching staff with administrative tasks where required
- Ensure the welfare and safety of all pupils
- Communicate effectively with school staff and your Keep Education consultant
Experience
- Previous experience working in a school or with children
- Experience managing groups of pupils effectively
- Familiarity with classroom routines and behaviour management
Skills
- Strong classroom management and organisation
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and flexibility
- Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different school environments

Educational requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A-Level qualifications or equivalent preferred
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
