Description
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils and teachers in a friendly and inclusive school in Harpenden. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom by supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation
- Provide additional support for pupils with varying needs
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support behaviour management in line with school policies
- Assist with playground duties and school activities where required
Experience
- Previous experience working in a school or with children – desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND – advantageous
- Suitable for both experienced TAs and those looking to gain classroom experience

- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, supportive, and nurturing approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Flexible and proactive attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Educational requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training)
