About Our Client

A trusted provider of Health and Safety training, proudly based in Northern Ireland. While their roots lie in supporting the construction industry, they have grown to deliver industry-recognised training across a diverse range of sectors — including manufacturing, engineering, gas and electricity distribution, local authorities, and telecommunications. They are Ireland’s first specialist Telecommunications Safety Training provider and continue to lead the way in workplace safety and compliance.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Manager is responsible for delivering the company’s sales plan and ensuring the team meets agreed annual sales and profitability targets. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for managing a team of three, developing and supporting team members, maintaining key client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring a consistent and professional approach to sales activity and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver against annual sales and profitability targets as agreed with the Managing Director.
  • Set and monitor individual and team KPIs and sales targets aligned to company objectives.
  • Track pipeline activity, sales conversion rates, and forecasted revenue using the CRM system.
  • Lead, manage, and support a team of three client advisors.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to help team members achieve their goals.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, reviews, and performance appraisals to support development and accountability.
  • Prospect and convert new business opportunities across construction, utilities, telecoms, engineering, and public sector clients.
  • Conduct regular account reviews with key clients to identify opportunities for growth and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and industry forums to build relationships and promote services.
  • Identify relevant tender opportunitiesand work with internal colleagues to coordinate or delegate the preparation and submission of tender responses.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of all tender documentation and follow-up communications.
  • Ensure consistent, accurate use of CRM systems to manage enquiries, leads, customer engagement, and reporting.
  • Work closely with training coordination and delivery teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Gather client feedback to inform service development and improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a B2B sales role with responsibility for team performance and development.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within Ireland and the UK.
  • Experience in the training, health and safety, or professional services sectors.
  • Familiarity with the needs of clients in construction, telecoms, utilities, engineering, or the public sector.
  • Experience with public procurement or preparing tender submissions.
