Job Description

We are working with a well-established and respected business based in Norwich to recruit a part-time Financial Controller. This is a newly created role, offering a broad remit across all areas of finance and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and success of the business.

The company operates in a technical, project-based environment, with a strong reputation for quality and long-term client relationships. As the business continues to grow, they are now looking to strengthen their internal finance function with a dedicated, experienced hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the finance function, including oversight of one direct report
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management
  • Manage VAT returns, payroll processes, and liaison with external accountants
  • Maintain and improve financial controls, systems, and procedures
  • Provide commercial and financial insight to support decision-making
  • Day-to-day use of Xero accounting software

About You:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE with relevant experience
  • Strong technical skills in financial and management reporting
  • A hands-on approach suited to a small business environment
  • Comfortable working independently and engaging with non-finance colleagues
  • Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems
