We're recruiting for a Systems Accountant position with a highly respected organisation undertaking significant finance transformation activity. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to combine technical accounting expertise with systems development, reporting enhancement and process optimisation.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in improving management reporting, enhancing financial processes and helping to shape the future of the finance function through better use of technology and data.

The Role

  • Lead reviews of management accounting and reporting processes
  • Develop and enhance financial reporting solutions and dashboards
  • Drive process improvements across finance systems and workflows
  • Support finance transformation and system development initiatives
  • Act as the key link between Finance and IT teams
  • Analyse complex financial data and provide meaningful insights
  • Improve controls, reporting accuracy and data integrity
  • Identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency
  • Provide support and guidance on finance systems and reporting tools

About You

To be successful, you'll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge and a genuine interest in finance systems and data.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience preparing or reviewing management accounts
  • Strong systems aptitude and experience working with ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards, ideally using Power BI
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and change
  • Experience of system implementations, finance transformation projects or grant-funded environments would be advantageous but is not essential.

This role would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys looking beyond the numbers and wants to play a key role in improving systems, reporting and business processes within a complex organisation.
