A well-established organisation in South Norfolk is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and support the continued financial stability and performance of the business. This part-time role offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to work closely with the leadership team on both operational and strategic matters.
The Role
The Financial Controller will oversee all core finance activities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and smooth day-to-day processes. This position suits someone comfortable managing a broad remit and acting as a trusted advisor to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including ledgers, banking and general accounting
- Produce monthly management accounts and support wider financial reporting
- Manage cashflow and prepare forward-looking forecasts
- Coordinate year-end processes and act as the main contact for external auditors
- Prepare VAT returns and support compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial planning activities
- Provide financial insights and commentary to guide business decision-making
- Support payroll preparation and time-and-attendance processes where needed
- Strengthen financial controls and improve processes where appropriate
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or QBE with strong experience in a similar role
- Comfortable managing the full finance remit independently
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with solid month-end experience
- Confident using finance systems with strong Excel ability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with stakeholders across the business
- Proactive, organised and capable of working with minimal supervision
