An established, multi-entity organisation is seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to join its finance function. This is a key role responsible for statutory reporting, tax compliance and group-level financial oversight, working closely with senior leadership and external auditors. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of statutory accounts across multiple entities, oversee VAT processes (including partial exemption), and support tax planning and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate group reporting, maintaining strong balance sheet controls and delivering timely financial information to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts for multiple group companies
- Ownership of group management reporting, liaising with divisional finance teams
- Primary contact for external auditors and coordination of audit processes
- Oversight and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Ownership of VAT returns and associated compliance matters
- Supporting external tax advisors with tax accounting and submissions
- Preparation of statutory returns including PSA, ONS and SAO
- Cashflow forecasting and variance analysis
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the finance function
