Job Description Assistant Accountant Full-time | Permanent Hybrid working available We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an Assistant Accountant to join their established and collaborative finance team. This is a varied opportunity for someone with previous finance or accounts experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive environment. You'll play an important role in ensuring the day-to-day finance function runs smoothly, while gaining exposure across a broad range of accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a genuine interest in finance, alongside a proactive approach to improving processes and supporting the wider business. Act as the first point of contact for customer account queries, dealing with these promptly and professionally. Process credits and refunds in line with agreed procedures. Process telephone card payments from customers. Support the close of the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring transactions are allocated to the correct accounting periods. Prepare nominal ledger journals, bank postings and complete bank reconciliations. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts. Support the Management Accountant and Financial Controller with budgets, forecasts and cashflow preparation. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business, providing additional support with calls, emails and ad hoc tasks during busy periods. We're looking for someone with previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role who is keen to develop their career and take on a varied position. Previous experience within an accounts or finance environment. Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
