A highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Norwich is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its small, close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to take on a broad and influential role within a firm that values quality, client service, and autonomy. The practice works with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses across Norfolk, offering a full range of services including accounts, tax, VAT and payroll. Due to its size and structure, this role offers genuine scope to influence processes, client relationships, and the future direction of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts for a varied client base
- Preparation of corporation tax and personal tax returns
- VAT return preparation and advisory support
- Payroll processing and related compliance
- Liaising directly with clients, providing high-quality service and technical support
- Supporting junior team members where required
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and client outcomes
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge across accounts, tax, VAT and payroll
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing ability
Desirable:
- ACA or ACCA qualified or recently qualified
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
