Overview: N-Able Group (Keegans and ECD Architects) is looking for a Financial Controller. This is a full time/permanent position in Central London on a Hybrid working model. The Financial Controller is responsible for the full financial management, control and reporting of the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role provides leadership to the finance team and acts as a key commercial partner to operational management and the parent Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for all accounting functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, general ledger, VAT returns, and bank reconciliations.
  • Production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet control, including WIP, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
  • Support year-end statutory accounts production and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Ownership of cashflow forecasting, monitoring and reporting.
  • Active management of working capital, including WIP, debtors and creditors.
  • Oversight of credit control activities to ensure timely collection of income and minimise aged debt.
  • Liaise with operational teams to resolve billing, valuation and payment issues.
  • Ensure payroll and supplier payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Line management of a finance team of three, including workload allocation, performance management and development.
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and adherence to internal controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems and controls.
  • Work closely with operational and project teams to support budgeting and forecasting, project performance and cost control, fee recovery and margin analysis, and commercial decision-making.
  • Support pricing, tendering and contract reviews from a financial perspective where required.
  • Act as the primary finance interface with the Group/parent company.
  • Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, reporting standards and governance requirements.
  • Contribute to Group-wide finance initiatives and standardisation where applicable.
  • Lead the annual budget and reforecast processes.
  • Support the MD with medium-term planning and financial strategy.
  • Lead or support finance system improvements or implementations as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience producing monthly management accounts and Group reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with cashflow management and credit control.
  • Experience managing and developing a small finance team.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g. Sage, Deltek Project Information Management, Excel).
