Children’s Palliative Care Nurse – 22.5 hours per week. £17,814 per annum (£29,691 FTE) with room to develop and progress through the pay grade banding up to £19,664 per annum (£32,774 FTE) on a competency-based framework. Keech Hospice is looking for a qualified children’s nurse to join our inpatient unit and deliver a high standard of nursing care to the children and their families. You will be working alongside experienced nurses and support workers to make a real difference and help make the most of families’ cherished time. This role is for two shifts per week, including long days, nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Join an incredible team and work hand in hand with colleagues, ensuring our patients and families receive the holistic and medical care they deserve
- Become a valued member of the inpatient team and wider children’s service, creating memorable connections with children, young people, families and colleagues forming the foundation of our work
- Be a compassionate advocate for children and families, promoting empowerment and guiding them towards choices and opportunities to improve their quality of life
- Provide high quality palliative and end of life care following symptom management plans
- Plan, deliver and evaluate care plans taking into account the child and family’s needs in a range of settings
Qualifications
- RSCN qualification
- Knowledge of palliative care principles
- Knowledge of loss, bereavement and child protection
- Good interpersonal and time management skills
- One year post-registration relevant experience
