We are seeking a motivated and inspiring SEN Teacher to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people. This role is an interim maternity cover position, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our school community and make a meaningful difference during this period.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable autistic young people to learn.
  • Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships with parents and carers.
  • Teach a range of subjects across the curriculum and lead in a subject area.
  • The willingness to plan and deliver lessons which teach essential and life skills.
  • Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom.
  • Engage in whole school activities as required by the Headteacher.
  • Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A qualification in SEND education is desirable
  • The ability to teach History and Humanities
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND and ASC
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods

Who are we?

Opened in 2014, Arc School Ansley is an independent specialist day school in Ansley, a lovely small village, for children and young people aged between 11 and 17. Our experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, who may have many associated needs such as social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs. Arc School Ansley is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
