About Olsen House School: Olsen House School is a specialist setting for students with Education, Health and Care Plans, focusing on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated social, emotional and mental health needs. Many of our students have experienced barriers to learning or disruption to their education, and we respond with calm, structured, autism-responsive practice and exceptionally strong relationships.
The opportunity: We are seeking a calm, skilled and ambitious Nurture Teacher to provide high-quality curriculum coverage across KS2 and KS3. The role will focus on:
- Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum across KS2 and KS3
- Re-engaging students who may have experienced disrupted education or significant gaps in learning
- Creating a calm, predictable and nurturing classroom environment
- Adapting teaching so students with ASD/SEND can access learning and make sustained progress
You will:
- Plan and teach sequenced learning across KS2 and KS3, adapting content to students’ starting points and EHCP outcomes.
- Use strong routines, modelling, scaffolding and explicit instruction to make learning accessible and purposeful.
- Build secure, respectful relationships that support regulation, engagement, independence and confidence.
- Use assessment and feedback to identify gaps, plan next steps and demonstrate progress over time.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, quality assurance and the wider improvement work of the school.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and therapists to reduce barriers and improve outcomes for students with complex needs.

- Can teach confidently across KS2 and KS3 and adapt learning across a wide range of starting points.
