Main Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a welcoming manner when service users are on admission to the home and assist them to settle in.
- Providing support with daily tasks, enabling our residents to live their best lives.
- Ensuring that resident needs and wishes are met.
- Providing companionship by simply talking and listening to residents and understanding their likes and dislikes.
- Encouraging residents to join in on organised activities and providing meaningful moments, with the assistance of team members.
- Working with residents in the provision of personal care.
- Assisting residents with eating and drinking, ensuring they are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet.
- Completing all food and fluid charts and any other daily monitoring records as requested.
- Supporting infection control e.g., cleaning up spills immediately, promoting hand hygiene practices, ensuring the proper use of PPE, and adhering to infection control polices and procedures.
- Ensuring the appropriate segregation of waste material.
- Responding promptly to the Nurse Call System.
- Reporting any concerns, accidents, or unexplained injuries immediately to the nurse in charge.
- Accurately recording and reporting essential information in the residents’ daily report and care plan.
- Being respectful towards resident’s possessions and ensure that bedrooms and communal areas are tidy and presentable,
- Respecting the dignity and privacy of residents.
- Keeping all information about residents and the home life secure and confidential, including when you are using social media.
- Working with other health and social care professionals to provide holistic care.
- Undertaking any other duties as and when required.
