Due to restrictions on the number of certificates we can issue at present, candidates without an existing visa or right to work in the UK are unlikely to be suitable for the advertised post. Everything we do is about giving our residents a place to call home and we are looking for a Peripatetic Chef with a passion for cooking, dedication to quality and a commitment to their team members. We currently have 6 Care Homes across Glasgow, Cambuslang, Rutherglen and East Kilbride on a peripatetic basis. You will be required to work across these homes. Highly desirable to have a driving license; however, this is not essential.
As the Peripatetic Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious, delicious meals for our residents, taking into consideration dietary requirements and preferences. Your culinary expertise will contribute to the overall wellbeing and satisfaction of our residents across our homes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and serve well-balanced meals for residents and offer a variety of snacks throughout the day.
- Liaise with the Care Home Manager/Operations team.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Manage the kitchen, including ordering, inventory control, and food budget management.
- Create menus that are appealing and varied, considering the dietary needs of residents.
- Collaborate with team members to address resident feedback and special requests.
- Monitor portion control and waste.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
- Adhere to all Food Safety and Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and perform routine maintenance.
This position requires a PVG and two relevant satisfactory references.
