Keane Premier Group are seeking a Group Learning & Development Manager (Registered Nurse) to lead workforce capability, clinical training standards and organisational development across the Group. This is a visible, hands-on leadership role working alongside Regional Managers, Service Managers, Home Managers and Support Functions to ensure learning supports regulatory compliance, service performance and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Operations Director, the postholder will contribute directly to workforce strategy while maintaining a strong operational presence across services.
The Group Learning & Development Manager will lead delivery of the organisation’s workforce development strategy across the business, ensuring training systems support safe practice, inspection readiness and organisational priorities.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide organisational oversight of training compliance through management of the Learning Management System (LMS), monitoring trends, identifying risks and reporting compliance levels to Regional Managers, support function leads and the Operations Director.
- Support managers to achieve and sustain compliance through guidance, targeted interventions and escalation where required, ensuring all support and direction is given while recognising that operational responsibility for staff training compliance remains with line managers.
- Leading implementation of the Group Learning & Development Strategy.
- Supporting Managers with workforce capability improvement plans.
- Delivering clinical and operational training aligned to business need.
- Supporting services requiring improvement through targeted learning interventions.
- Strengthening structured induction and competency frameworks.
- Supporting mobilisation of new services.
- Embedding learning from incidents, complaints and inspection activity.
- Supporting implementation of digital systems including electronic care planning and eMAR.
Clinical & Practice Development Leadership
As a Registered Nurse, the postholder will oversee clinical workforce development including:
- medication management and delegated clinical competencies.
- infection prevention and control.
- moving and handling practice assurance.
- clinical documentation standards.
- nutrition, hydration and deterioration awareness.
- falls prevention and tissue viability awareness.
- adult support and protection practice.
The role will strengthen safe delegation frameworks and support development of senior carers undertaking extended responsibilities.
Health, Safety & Workforce Development Responsibilities
The postholder will lead workforce development supporting safe and professional practice across the organisation, including:
- Health & Safety training frameworks.
- moving and handling compliance assurance.
- fire safety awareness training oversight.
- risk awareness and incident learning integration.
- equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
- dignity at work and respectful workplace practice.
- prevention of sexual harassment and inappropriate workplace behaviour.
- professional boundaries and safeguarding culture.
In conjunction with HR, supporting the creation and delivery of people-related training (e.g. performance management, absence management, leadership development). This work will be delivered in partnership with HR, Estates and the Quality & Governance team.
Governance & Assurance Contribution
The Group Learning & Development Manager will support organisational assurance by:
- reporting training compliance and workforce capability risks to senior leadership.
- supporting inspection readiness through competency assurance.
- contributing to service improvement plans.
- strengthening supervision and appraisal quality.
- embedding learning from audits, incidents and regulatory feedback.
- supporting governance reporting where workforce risks are identified.
Budget & Leadership Responsibilities
The postholder will:
- manage the Learning & Development budget.
- oversee effective use of internal and external training provision.
- support workforce planning linked to organisational growth.
- develop internal trainers and practice champions.
- provide visible leadership across services through direct training delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC registered).
- Experience managing an LMS and organisational training compliance systems.
- Experience producing compliance reports for senior leadership.
- Experience delivering clinical training within care homes and/or care-at-home services.
- Strong understanding of Care Inspectorate expectations.
- Experience supporting inspection readiness or service improvement activity.
- Experience designing competency frameworks and structured induction programmes.
- Experience delivering Health & Safety and professional practice training.
- Experience working across multiple services or regions.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland.
