Have you worked in fintech or financial services and built serious things on Azure and Kubernetes? This could be your next move. We're hiring a Cloud Engineer to join a small, senior founding platform function at a fast-growing trading platform business, working hands-on with Azure, AKS, and Terraform from day one. This is a greenfield build, not a migration. You'll be shaping real infrastructure decisions early, with genuine room to grow into a bigger leadership role as the platform and team scale, in a business with no rigid career ladder and no ceiling on progression, salary, or bonus.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and operate Azure environments powering a live trading platform (Kubernetes, relational and in-memory data stores, event streaming infrastructure)
  • Design secure, scalable cloud architecture: networking, segmentation, private endpoints, isolation
  • Build infrastructure as code with Terraform and Azure CLI
  • Own cloud security posture: identity, RBAC, least-privilege, secrets management, encryption
  • Build observability: logging, monitoring, alerting, security events
  • Take part in cloud-level incident response and post-incident reviews
  • Work closely with the CTO and Tech Lead on cloud strategy, with the opportunity to grow into leading a team over time

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven, hands-on Azure expertise (4+ years), Kubernetes/AKS core to this platform
  • Entrepreneurial, highly autonomous, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Right to work in the UK strongly preferred
  • Financial services, fintech, or another regulated environment
  • Trading platforms or low-latency systems
  • Scale-up or start-up background, builder not migration specialist
  • Comfortable operating without a large supporting team

THE DETAILS

  • West London, hybrid (3 days office / 2 remote)
  • Bonus: discretionary, targeted around 20%+
  • Meaningful equity, vesting annually over 3 years

If you're a hands-on builder looking for real ownership and a mission-critical platform to shape from the ground up, without needing to have run the show before, we'd like to hear from you.
