KDR are working with a growing, technology-led organisation looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join their internal technology team. This is a hands-on solutions role combining technical delivery with consultancy and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to understand their challenges, explore potential solutions and take those solutions through design and implementation.

The role would suit someone who started their career in technical support or engineering but has since moved beyond traditional support into solution design, project delivery and technology consultancy.

What you’ll do

  • Understand the Problem: Work directly with stakeholders to understand business challenges, gather requirements and identify where technology can make a difference.
  • Design Solutions: Turn those requirements into practical technical solutions, considering usability, security, scalability and the wider technology environment.
  • Deliver Hands-On: Stay close to the technology, taking an active role in configuring, implementing, testing and improving the solutions you design.
  • Own Projects: Take responsibility for technical projects from initial discovery and requirements through to implementation and handover.
  • Consult & Advise: Act as a trusted technical partner to teams across the organisation, explaining options, challenging requirements where needed and helping stakeholders make informed technology decisions.
  • Automate & Improve: Identify opportunities to simplify processes and use scripting, automation and modern tooling to improve how technology is delivered.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have a strong technical foundation but will have moved beyond a predominantly support or infrastructure-focused position. You’ll be comfortable speaking with stakeholders, understanding what they’re trying to achieve and designing a solution, while still having the technical ability to get hands-on and deliver it.

We’re particularly interested in experience across:

  • Solution design and implementation
  • Requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
  • Microsoft 365 and the wider Microsoft ecosystem
  • Entra ID and identity management
  • Intune and endpoint management
  • PowerShell and automation
  • Translating business requirements into technical solutions

Experience with Azure, APIs, integrations, Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform or Infrastructure as Code would be beneficial. This isn't a traditional infrastructure or BAU support position. The focus is on solving business problems through technology and owning solutions from initial conversation through to delivery.

Private medical and dental insurance
Enhanced parental support
Employee assistance programme
Cycle to work scheme
Additional wellbeing and lifestyle benefits

Candidates must be based within commutable distance of Oxford with full rights to work in the UK.

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
