This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to support the ongoing development and optimisation of the organisation's Data Platform, ensuring it meets business needs for availability, performance and data integrity.
- Create and continuously develop the Data Platform, ensuring its availability and performance to meet business needs.
- Build data pipelines to connect APIs, files, databases and data streams to the Data Platform.
- Manage ETL/ELT processes end-to-end, including the dimensionally modelled semantic layer.
- Define and embed data quality measures within data pipelines.
- Ensure data integrity, monitoring and alerting are integrated into all solutions.
- Create and manage build and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions and successful business outcomes.
- Work within an Agile Kanban workflow to safely code, review, test and deploy solutions using source control.
Our client is looking for a Data Engineer with strong Microsoft data platform experience and a passion for building scalable, high-quality data solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Azure SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong experience with dimensional modelling of operational data for analytics use cases.
- Knowledge of ETL tools, methodologies and best practices.
- Experience using Python for scripting and automating data tasks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD approaches for Data Platforms, primarily using Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Studio and SSDT projects.
- Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
- Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
