The Role
This role sits at the intersection of platform strategy, engineering delivery, and team leadership. You’ll guide how cloud services, data pipelines, and integrations are designed, ensuring they support both current needs and long‑term growth. You’ll work closely with product, data science, and operations teams to turn business goals into robust technical platforms, while also building and developing engineering teams capable of delivering and evolving those platforms over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting the technical direction for how cloud, data and integration services are built and scaled
- Ensuring analytics, AI and operational teams can rely on well‑structured, high‑quality data
- Enabling faster development through strong APIs and shared platform services
- Embedding automation, reliability and security into how systems are delivered and maintained
- Supporting the transition of machine learning from experimentation into real‑world usage
- Growing and coaching engineers while raising overall engineering standards
- Acting as a senior technical partner to business and product leadership
Your Experience
We’re looking for someone comfortable leading complex platform programmes while staying close enough to the technology to guide key design decisions.
Essential Experience
- Senior engineering leadership within cloud or platform‑focused teams
- Strong background in Azure‑based data and analytics environments
- Experience working with Databricks and large‑scale data processing
- Proven ability to design and evolve integration layers and APIs
- Understanding of how to operationalise machine learning workloads
- Track record of building and developing high‑performing engineering teams
