The Opportunity
You’ll join a high‑impact platform engineering team responsible for designing, securing, and operating large‑scale compute and data platforms. Working closely with engineers and researchers, you’ll enable teams to move faster through robust DevOps practices, modern infrastructure tooling, and strong operational foundations. This is a hands‑on role with real influence over architecture, tooling, and standards across the organisation.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and operate highly available, scalable infrastructure platforms supporting compute‑intensive workloads.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Build and maintain Kubernetes‑based platforms for containerised workloads.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable deployments.
- Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response best practices.
- Optimise performance across compute, storage, and networking layers.
- Embed security, resilience, and compliance controls into platform design (“DevSecOps”).
- Partner with internal teams to forecast capacity, improve reliability, and streamline delivery workflows.
Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, GCP (cloud‑agnostic mindset)
Compute & Storage: GPU‑enabled infrastructure, high‑performance storage systems, high‑speed networking
Observability: Monitoring, logging, and alerting tools across distributed systems
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles operating production systems at scale.
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience building reliable CI/CD pipelines and automation‑first platforms.
- Deep understanding of Linux, networking, and distributed systems.
- Comfortable working autonomously in complex, fast‑moving environments.
- Experience with GPU or high‑performance compute environments is a strong plus (but not essential).
