KDR have partnered with a fast-growing media and events business that is investing heavily in modernising its technology landscape through the build of a brand-new Azure data platform.
As Engineering Manager, you'll sit at the intersection of software engineering, integration, and data platform delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own complex API and connectivity challenges, mentor a growing team of engineers, and help shape the foundations of a platform that will underpin the organisation's future growth.
While the data platform itself is being built on Azure and Databricks, this role is heavily focused on the software engineering and integration layer that enables it all. The business already has a clear growth plan in place, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress into a future Head of Engineering position.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, building, and scaling robust API layers that connect internal systems and third-party platforms.
- Leading complex integration initiatives across a wide ecosystem of external event technology providers.
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing a growing team of software engineers.
- Remaining close to the technology through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practice.
- Acting as the bridge between core software delivery and the new Azure data platform.
- Driving improvements around Agile delivery, scalability, and engineering standards.
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering background with experience designing and delivering scalable systems.
- Significant experience building APIs and managing complex third-party integrations.
- Experience working within Azure environments.
- Previous people management experience or a strong track record of mentoring and developing engineers.
- Exposure to Databricks would be beneficial, although deep expertise isn't required.
Why Join?
- Greenfield Azure and Databricks platform build.
- Opportunity to solve complex integration and connectivity challenges at scale.
- Hands-on leadership role with genuine influence over technical direction.
- Chance to mentor and develop a growing engineering team.
- Clear progression path into a future Head of Engineering position.
- Join a high-growth, technology-led business at a pivotal stage of its journey.
