Contract Opportunity: Data Architect – London Market Insurance

Location: Central London (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)

Rate: Β£650–£850/day (Outside IR35)

Duration: 6 months (initial engagement, with likely extensions)

We’re partnering with a leading global insurance group to recruit an experienced Data Architect for a major data transformation initiative. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned contractor with deep expertise in the London Market insurance sector and a passion for building robust, scalable data architectures using modern cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead the implementation of data architectures aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion best practices in data modelling, ensuring consistency and scalability across the enterprise.
  • Play a critical role in the build-out and optimisation of a Medallion architecture using Databricks and the Azure data platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Govern and enhance the overall data platform, ensuring high data quality, lineage, and performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in London Market insurance data environments – essential.
  • Strong background in data architecture, particularly within Azure ecosystems (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory).
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks and implementing Medallion architecture patterns.
  • Advanced data modelling capabilities, with experience across operational and analytical domains.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
