The Planning Lab is looking for two new planning consultants at Associate and Planner level to join the team advising on creative sector projects, including prominent culture and heritage clients and commercial focused work.

About TPL

The Planning Lab are a town planning consultancy that specialises in advising the creative sectors, which includes many prominent cultural and heritage focused clients. They advise on all the normal planning functions associated with securing major (and minor) planning consents and contributing to strategies on often high profile, sensitive developments across London - and subject to how interesting a project is, elsewhere too. They work extensively with the inner London boroughs and have positive relationships with officers there and at Historic England.

Clients range from national art galleries, education institutions, major museums and performance venues, to Trusts and Markets and other owners of large estates, as well as commercial schemes. They currently represent eight out of the top ten most visited attractions in the UK (ALVA 24 figs).

With offices in Somerset House overlooking the River, The Planning Lab are part of the active creative and business community across the whole site.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • RTPI chartered membership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt work to address relevant audience
  • Good presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Skilled in fostering and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and planning officers
  • A minimum of 5 years of planning experience in the UK
