The Electrical Engineer will work on the design of the Electrical Wiring System for a new Landing Gear test rig. This is a complex rig with many electrical interconnections.

  • Produce new interconnection designs and create drawings and documents for implementation in line with client Standard Practices.
  • Calculate wire lengths, voltage, current, and other associated values for design solutions as required.
  • Ability to define and specify wiring and interconnect specifications.
  • Create suitable Bill of Materials (BOMs) for design solutions and locate appropriate suppliers for component parts and request quotations accordingly.
  • Work with procurement to engage and support suppliers.
  • Support relevant stakeholders with test, integration, and commissioning processes as required.
  • Work as part of a team of 4 electrical engineers, collaborating with other suppliers and client technical leads in a multi-disciplined team to develop the entire test rig solution.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Aircraft EWIS (Electrical wiring interconnection systems).
  • Practical knowledge of electrical or avionics test rig electrical requirements and design.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD for creating relevant electrical drawings.
  • Understanding wiring diagrams, schematics, and aircraft documentation (including AMMs, FCOMs, etc.).

Advantageous Skills

  • Practical hand skills using electrical/electronic components and associated tools (e.g., soldering irons, multi-meters, etc.).
  • Understanding of data acquisition.
  • Knowledge of Landing Gear Systems.
  • Experience working in Aerospace or defence.
  • CompEx-12 certification or knowledge of ATEX electrical requirements for explosive atmosphere.
