KDB Services Ltd is a well-established construction and building company based in Bury, Greater Manchester. We deliver a wide range of commercial and domestic projects across the North West, including NHS schemes, school works, disabled adaptations, anti-ligature projects, refurbishments, and extensions.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery and financial control of our projects. This offers the opportunity to become the lead QS to drive this area of the business.
Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs from initial estimation through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining profitability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project cost, budgets, and forecasts
- Carry out valuations, variations, and final account negotiations
- Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and valuations
- Monitor project progress and report on cost and risk performance
- Lead tender preparation and pricing submissions
- Ensure contractual compliance and manage risk and change control
- Work closely with project manager teams to maintain financial accuracy
- Maintain accurate records of dayworks and variations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of commercial and domestic projects
- Experience with CVR reporting and cost control
- Understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Strong IT skills (Excel, project software, and accounting systems)
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related discipline
- Relevant Experience with NHS, education, commercial & refurbishment projects
- Knowledge of compliance and H&S requirements (CDM 2015)
