Are you an experienced Goods Out Manager who thrives on pace, accuracy, and getting orders out the door on time? We’re recruiting for a Goods Out Manager for a busy, established business in Scarborough. This is a pivotal role in the stock lifecycle, leading the function to ensure orders are picked accurately from a large warehouse and dispatched efficiently — all while hitting productivity targets and maintaining high standards across people, process and systems. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager, using automated and computerised systems to analyse real-time data and drive performance and continuous improvement.

What the Goods Out Manager job involves:

  • Overseeing outbound warehousing operations and empowering Team Leaders to build strong teams, manage performance, and maintain productivity standards.
  • Managing and leading staff in line with business, departmental and personal targets.
  • Owning departmental performance and working with Team Leaders on improvement initiatives where results are below expectation.
  • Developing teams through training, mentoring and strong onboarding/induction processes.
  • Reporting monthly on KPI outcomes and working with Team Leaders to set KPIs and objectives aligned to operational goals.
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining H&S and risk management documentation.
  • Monitoring absence and attendance and reporting weekly on actions taken/planned.
  • Managing HR activities including recruitment, induction, investigations and disciplinaries (as required).
  • Developing, delivering and monitoring standards and performance documentation in line with SOPs.
  • Supporting rota coordination when required, in line with company practices.
  • Contributing to meetings to help shape department targets and objectives.
  • Cross-department liaison to improve and maintain efficiencies across the wider operation.
  • Coordinating stock movement so goods flow safely, smoothly and consistently through the warehouse.
  • Maintaining a clear understanding of company policies/vision and how the warehouse supports this.

  • Confident, people-first leader who can drive standards while keeping teams motivated and productive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience.
  • Strong confidence and “strength of character”.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-orientated and analytical approach.
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience delivering training.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and best practice.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Flexibility with rota hours where required to meet business need.
  • Ability to produce and present data in Microsoft formats.
  • Experience of stock movement practices.
  • Ambition to progress, with a proactive mindset.
  • Creative thinker with good negotiation skills.
  • Experience as a Dispatch Manager / Outbound Warehouse Manager / Goods Out Supervisor or similar.
