Our client is a well respected manufacturing and engineering company based in the Filey area, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team.
This role is initially temporary with the potential for a permanent position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on financial professional to play a critical role in the company's financial operations and contribute to its strategic direction.
What the Interim Financial Controller job involves You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the business, ensuring robust financial controls and providing key insights to support business decisions.
Checking daily bank balances and managing cashflow.
Overseeing the invoice financing process.
Updating ledger reports and preparing monthly P&L accounts.
Generating weekly sales and invoice reports.
Managing credit control and the debtor's ledger across multiple currencies (Euro, GBP, USD).
Preparing for external audits and conducting monthly reconciliations.
Performing payroll analysis and preparing creditor and debtor reports.
Developing customer reports, including average pricing and turnover by region.
Maintaining fixed asset registers and managing depreciation.
Ensuring compliance with HMRC, PAYE, pension regulations, and quarterly VAT.
Fixed asset management, including registration and depreciation.
This is a stand alone senior finance role that requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple financial responsibilities and contribute to the wider business strategy.
Skills required We are looking for a Financial Controller with a solid background in SME environments, particularly within industries such as manufacturing, engineering, distribution, or warehousing Experience with Sage and excel for reporting Strong experience in day-to-day cash management and cash flow forecasting.
An open-minded approach, willing to understand the entire business beyond finance, including production aspects.
A proactive attitude, bringing ideas for improvement and efficiency.
Able to deal with the transactional duties through to the management reporting.
Other information Working hours are typically 8:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 to 11:30 on Friday.
