Are you an experienced Payroll Manager who takes pride in delivering an accurate, compliant and customer-focused payroll service? We are supporting this organisation as they look for an experienced and motivated Payroll Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of payroll across the organisation and its subsidiaries. This is a full-time temporary opportunity and would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, supporting a team and continually improving systems and processes. What the Payroll Manager job involves:
- Take responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining full compliance with statutory requirements, HMRC guidance, GDPR, pension regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain payroll data, process new starters and leavers, calculate statutory and occupational payments and produce payslips and statutory documentation, including P45s, P60s and P11Ds.
- Reconcile payroll accounts each month and complete year-end reporting for HMRC and pension bodies.
- Act as the lead contact for pension providers, overseeing pension administration and auto-enrolment responsibilities, administering employee benefits through payroll and supporting internal and external audits.
- Protect the integrity and security of payroll systems while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen processes and encourage greater employee self-service.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive working environment and support safeguarding responsibilities in line with the organisation's values.
Skills required:
- Strong knowledge of payroll procedures and statutory guidance relating to employee deductions and entitlements.
- Experience of managing an end-to-end payroll service and consistently meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a helpful and customer-focused approach.
- The ability to prioritise a varied workload, work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to compliance, accuracy, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
