We are recruiting for a Temporary Management Accountant to support an organisation based in Scarborough. Working in a small and busy finance team, this is a brilliant opportunity for a hands-on, deadline-driven accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and turning numbers into meaningful insight. You will be joining a values-led organisation where finance plays a key role in supporting stakeholders, staff and wider outcomes. The role is available due to short-term cover / additional support needs within the team.
What the Management Accountant job involves:
- Producing monthly management accounts (accruals, prepayments, journals, variance analysis)
- Supporting budget setting, reforecasting and reporting against budget
- Building strong relationships with budget holders, explaining performance clearly and constructively
- Maintaining and improving reporting packs, reconciliations and finance processes
- Assisting with audit preparation and responding to reporting requirements (including funding-related reporting where applicable)
Skills required:
- Proven management accounts experience (temporary/contract experience welcomed)
- AAT qualified and/or part-qualified / qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent experience
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Confident communication skills, able to work collaboratively with non-finance stakeholders
Other Information:
- Temporary for 2-3 months
- Typically Monday-Friday (full-time preferred; part-time may be considered for the right person)
- Car Parking is available
