The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter & Assembler to join a busy manufacturing team based in Aylesbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter & Assembler with experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You will play an important role in assembling high-quality products, working from engineering drawings and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a hands-on production environment, take pride in their workmanship and have a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Carring out mechanical fitting and assembly of components to a high standard
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including Third Angle Projection drawings
- Following work instructions and assembly procedures to ensure products are manufactured correctly
- Using hand tools and production equipment safely and effectively
- Carrying out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Identifying issues and supporting problem-solving activities
- Maintaining excellent attention to detail and ensuring quality standards are achieved
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production department
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Supporting other areas of production when required
What we are looking for
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
- Experience in mechanical fitting and assembly
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working from Third Angle Projection drawings would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
