KCR Solutions are supporting this established and growing service-sector business based in South Tyneside in their search to recruit an experienced Accountant Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a varied and hands-on role offering exposure across all aspects of the finance function.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
- Posting and reconciliation of journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Monitoring cash flow and supporting cash management activities.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Reviewing and improving financial procedures and controls.
- Providing support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions where required.
- Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Financial Controller.
The Person
- Experience preparing management accounts.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified, or QBE
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
