KCR Solutions are delighted to be working with this successful company to recruit a Financial Controller to take full ownership of the company's finance function, overseeing all daily accounting and financial management.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a hands-on role in a fast-paced SME environment. Your duties will be as follows:
- Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, cash flow analysis, and variance commentary.
- Presenting financial performance and key commercial metrics clearly to the MD each month.
- Leading the year-end statutory account preparation and filing process, acting as the primary point of contact for external UK auditors or accountants.
- Responsible for the general ledger, overseeing daily transaction processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Maintaining and updating cash flow forecast model on a weekly basis to manage working capital and monitor operational runway.
- Proactively managing supplier payment cycles to preserve the company's cash buffer during peak outflow weeks.
- Overseeing the company's banking relationships and direct active credit control efforts to minimise debtor days.
- Collating all monthly payroll adjustments (including new starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, bonuses, and statutory pay like SSP/SMP) into a submission log.
- Liaising directly with the external payroll administrator.
- Auditing BACS files prior to final fund release, ensuring accurate payroll delivery.
- Ensuring full company compliance with Auto-Enrolment workplace pensions, monthly PAYE/NIC deadlines, and quarterly VAT submissions.
You will be a full qualified Accountant or you will be qualified by experience, having worked in a similar role. Advanced Excel is essential, including the ability to use advanced formulas.
