KCR Solutions are supporting this established and progressive company based in County Durham in their search for an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director and working within a small finance team, this is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for supporting month-end activities and the wider finance function. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into a broader accounting role and eventually take ownership of full accounts duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting management accounts preparation
- Sales and purchase ledger oversight
- Bank reconciliations and cash management
- VAT and general finance administration
- Supporting process improvements and finance projects
- Sales and purchase ledger control
- Credit control
- Supporting integration of a new system into the business
- Ad-hoc duties as required to include administration tasks
Essential Experience
- Previous month-end accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
- Good Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
