KCR Solutions are supporting this established and progressive company based in County Durham in their search for an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director and working within a small finance team, this is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for supporting month-end activities and the wider finance function. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into a broader accounting role and eventually take ownership of full accounts duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting management accounts preparation
  • Sales and purchase ledger oversight
  • Bank reconciliations and cash management
  • VAT and general finance administration
  • Supporting process improvements and finance projects
  • Sales and purchase ledger control
  • Credit control
  • Supporting integration of a new system into the business
  • Ad-hoc duties as required to include administration tasks

Essential Experience

  • Previous month-end accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
  • Good Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
